Franz Longin: A life between balance sheets and social commitment
Interview with a contemporary witness
Franz Longin has not only made a name for himself in the world of auditing and tax consultancy. He initially worked for Taylorix, but soon decided to become self-employed. A step that required not only professional skill, but also a good portion of pioneering spirit. “For me, it was always a matter close to my heart that economic success and social commitment go hand in hand,” recalls Mr. Longin.
"Business is more than profit. It's the chance to make things happen."
In addition to his professional commitments, Mr. Longin also found the time and energy to get involved in politics, particularly through his work with the CDU. But his role at Elektror was important to him. Here he successfully combined entrepreneurial thinking with social responsibility, an approach that not many follow consistently. “Business is more than profit. It’s the chance to make things happen,” emphasizes Mr. Longin.
The foundation he co-founded reflects his deep commitment to social responsibility. It supports Elektror and finances many different projects, from research and animal welfare to development initiatives worldwide. “True leadership is reflected in social commitment, not just in balance sheets,” says Franz Longin about his motivation for setting up the foundation.
Franz Longin’s story shows that success in business and social commitment need not be a contradiction in terms. He proves that you can be successful in the business world and make significant contributions to society at the same time. “Innovation and integrity lead us, profit follows,” is how Mr. Longin sums up his philosophy. He is an example of how, with the right attitude and commitment, you can actually bring about change. “For me, success is measured by what we give back.”
